“I am Forced to Imagine: Finding One’s Way Into the Patient’s Internalized Object World”

Steven H. Cooper is in practice in Cambridge as a psychoanalyst, individual psychotherapist, and couples therapist. Dr. Cooper is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School. He is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and Faculty and Supervising Analyst at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis. Since 2007 he has served as the Joint Editor-in-Chief of Psychoanalytic Dialogues. He is the author of two books, Objects of Hope: Exploring Possibility and Limit in Psychoanalysis published in 2000 by The Analytic Process. His most recent book was published in 2010 by Routledge Press and is titled, A Disturbance in the Field: Essays in Transference-Countertransference.
