An Evening with Ramsay Bell Breslin

Ms. Ramsay Bell Breslin, Bay Area art writer, will present a paper on the late works of the recently deceased Berkeley sculptor, Stephen de Staebler. The salon coincides with the S.F. De Young retrospective exhibition of his work, January 22 – April 20. You are encouraged to see the work before attending the salon.

 

Ms. Breslin has written extensively about De Staebler’s work from a psychoanalytic perspective, including an essay published in the Spring 2010 issue of Fort Da, titled, Mourning in the Sculpture of Stephen De Staebler. She is currently at work on his biography.

The paper she will present is entitled, The Last Separation: The Late Works of Stephen De Staebler. Everyone will be encouraged to join in a conversation about the sculptor and his works, moderated by Dr. Dawn Farber. Light supper will be served.
